📜 Rules & Regulations 📜
General Play: Preferred Lies
BUMPING IS IN EFFECT.
Players are permitted to bump the ball within one foot (12 inches) of where it originally lay, not nearer the hole, using the clubhead.
USGA Model Local Rule E-3 (Preferred Lies). The Committee may adopt other relief distances.
- ❌ You cannot improve your lie (e.g., you cannot bump the ball from the rough into the fairway).
- ❌ You cannot bump the ball if it is in a hazard or penalty area.
- Maintain the "Line of Play": You may move the ball within one foot (12 inches) of where it lay, not nearer the hole, but not in any direction that creates a clear line of sight to the hole if one didn't exist previously.
- Like-to-Like Condition (same area of the course): If the ball is in the rough, it stays in the rough. If it's behind a bush, it stays behind the bush (or at least keeps the bush between the ball and the target).
Day 1 & 2: Team Match Play
Standard Match Play rules apply. Gimmies are allowed and encouraged to maintain pace of play.
Scoring Requirement: Players must maintain their full Gross/Net scores for all 18 holes. If a match is closed out early (e.g., 3&2), players MUST continue to play the remaining holes and record their scores.
Day 3: Singles Matches (Hybrid Format)
Format: Singles Match Play AND Individual Low Net Stroke Play.
⚠️ CRITICAL: You MUST putt everything out on Day 3. No concessions allowed. We need a valid 18-hole score for the Net Tournament.
Robson Ranch OB Rule
Goal: Avoid "The Walk of Shame" and speed up play.
Penalty: 2 Strokes.
Procedure: If you hit your ball Out of Bounds, you do NOT need to return to the tee. Instead, place your ball in the fairway adjacent to where it went out of bounds.
(This simulates hitting a 3rd shot from the tee and landing it in the fairway. You are now lying 3, hitting your 4th shot).
Local Rule: The "Lost but Found" Option
To be used when a ball is lost but agreed by the group NOT to be Out of Bounds.Purpose: To speed up play when a ball is clearly in play but cannot be located (e.g., buried in deep rough or leaves).
"If a player’s ball is lost and the group agrees it is not Out of Bounds, the player may opt to treat the lost ball as an Unplayable Lie rather than taking Stroke and Distance."
- Agreement: The group must agree on the estimated vicinity where the ball was lost.
- Penalty: One (1) Stroke.
- Procedure: Drop within two club-lengths of the estimated spot (no closer to the hole).
- Result: You lie 2 (shot + penalty) and are hitting your 3rd shot.
Note: If the group believes the ball may be Out of Bounds, this rule does NOT apply. You must proceed under standard OB rules (2 stroke penalty, drop in fairway).
